Works in Clay

It’s a long time ago, my unofficial ceramics minor in college.

It wasn’t so long ago, my illustrating for magazines. Somehow, diving into the creating of works in clay feels completely natural. As if that third dimension was simply waiting in the wings to join writing’s other two. <smile>

Many of the bowls stem from a haiku focused on the two small koi ponds that are a part of Hopewell Springs.

what koi think of stars

when azaleas’ white blossoms

drop onto their pond

Other bowls take their inspiration from other elements of nature or the creatures who share the farm.
